This feature makes objects in stainless steel versatile and robust. They easily resist oxidation and rust attacks and, if well treated, ensure a long durability. If you make mistakes in cleaning stainless steel, the chrome plating is affected, compromising the surface of the object.

Here are some tips for cleaning it without leaving any marks.

1 – USE BAKING SODA

This is a great classic of ecological cleaning. Baking soda is one of those products that you absolutely must have in your cleaning kit! Dilute a little baking soda in hot water. Then clean your stainless steel surfaces with this mixture soaked on a sponge. To rinse, it’s easy: use a sponge soaked in hot water or a simple microfiber cloth.

2 – LEMON AND OIL OR HOUSEHOLD ALCOHOL TO CLEAN, SANITIZE AND BRING SHINE TO STAINLESS STEEL

A little lemon juice and oil? Sounds like the start of a vinaigrette recipe! However, this little mixture is excellent for bringing infinite shine to stainless steel while removing fingerprints. In addition, lemon is an excellent antibacterial. It will therefore allow you to obtain a healthier kitchen at the same time. To clean, shine and disinfect your stainless steel worktop, you can also use household alcohol. A few drops of water and this alcohol on a cloth will do the trick here. And no need to rinse with this cleaning product!

3 – FLOUR

You can use flour to clean stainless steel. Of course, to avoid creating a bigger mess, you might want to reserve this cleaning tip for the sink, or perhaps for your pots and pans.

The first thing you do is clean the sink thoroughly to remove any dirt, grease or grime that may be stuck on. Once dry, cover it with flour.

Feel free to use as much flour as you like. Next, take a soft cloth and, in a circular motion, buff the sink.

You will soon notice that the sink starts to shine like new. It’s that simple.

4 – WHITE CLAY STONE

Credit: aromatips

White stone is also a good product for maintaining the sink, splashback or any stainless steel appliance.

Instructions

Soak a damp sponge or cloth in clay stone then clean the stainless steel without rubbing too much.

Rinse.

Wipe immediately with a microfiber cloth.

5 – DESCALING STAINLESS STEEL WITH WHITE VINEGAR

Credit: francebleu

Sometimes a limescale deposit covers stainless steel furniture or accessories. In the worst case scenario, the scale has become so encrusted that it is difficult to get rid of by wiping it with a damp cloth. To restore the surface to its original condition, the best technique is to use white vinegar diluted in water. The preparation is also child’s play. Create a cleaning solution by adding equal amounts of vinegar and water. Dampen the soft cloth with this preparation and lightly rub the soiled area before wiping with a clean, dry cloth. Even stubborn marks should disappear after a few rubs.

Warning: white vinegar should never be used in its pure state, as it risks irreversibly damaging stainless steel.

Welcome Tips Cleaning Stainless Steel: How to Remove Stains and Make it Shine… Stainless steel, thanks to its chrome coating, is a durable and resistant material.
