Zembra cactus (Haworthia attenuata)

Native to Africa, it has dark-colored erect leaves with small horizontal white streaks, which give it its name. It is a perennial plant with small dimensions.

Its flowers are white and appear between October and November. It needs very little water and can be grown in a very small pot.

2. Crown of Christ (Euphorbia milii)

This plant is native to Madagascar. It has long, spoon-shaped leaves. Its flowers are small and yellow, red or pink.

Like all succulents, it needs little water. It has numerous thorns. To make it flower it is necessary to expose it to direct sunlight.

3. Chain banana (Senecio radicans)

It has curved foliage of a mixed color between green and blue. Very simple to grow, it is native to South Africa, where it grows spontaneously.

It is a climbing plant, with white and fragrant flowers that appear during autumn and winter. To grow it indoors you need to place it in very bright corners.

4. Living stones (Lithops)

They are shaped like colored stones and, when found in their habitat, are often confused with real stones. Very small in size, they are perfect for keeping in vases.

The living stones are native to Africa and are composed of two leaves which, divided in half, generate a cylindrical-shaped fissure and from which its flowers will arise between spring and autumn.

5. Donkey’s Tail (Sedum morganianum)

This plant is native to Mexico and is very simple to propagate. It has cylindrical leaves and its stems can reach a height of 50 centimeters.

It resists well to low and high temperatures. It does best in shaded corners and needs little water.

6. Echeveria elegans

It has the shape of a crown that closes on itself, and a green flower. Also native to Mexico, it flowers during the summer and has stems about 20 centimeters long.

It needs very little care: just place it in a bright place but not exposed to direct sunlight.

7. Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera)

This plant is especially beautiful during the winter. In this period its flowers appear, ranging from pink to white, from red to yellow. It can be propagated easily.

Originally from Brazil, it needs little water and natural light.

8. Kalanchoe Tessa

This climbing plant produces very beautiful flowers and can reach a height of 30 centimetres. Its leaves are fleshy and green, while the flowers are pink and grow from a very thin stem.

It needs a lot of light and must be planted in a mix of soil and peat. Water sporadically.

9. Jade tree

It is one of the best known and easiest to grow succulents. It has a very peculiar appearance, given that it grows in the form of various small trees whose trunk is a striking gray colour. Its leaves are fleshy and of a very intense green color.

It needs little water and lots of light. It is precisely the abundance of light that will make the tips of the leaves red.

10. Greater Houseleek

They have a shape similar to that of roses, with well-rounded edges. It is only necessary to water them when the soil is dry. They can also grow in the shade.

The leaves are very fleshy and tolerate long periods of drought.

Important: This website does not give medical advice, nor does it suggest the use of techniques as a form of treatment for physical problems, for which the advice of a doctor is required. If you decide to apply the information contained in this site, it does not assume responsibility. The intention of the site is to be illustrative, not exhortative or didactic.

Succulents, also called succulents, are very simple and beautiful plants to care for, which can give a touch of color and originality to our homes.
