Tile grout is porous, making it difficult to clean. And because the grout lines between tiles are often slightly deeper than the surface, simply wiping your tiled surface is often not enough for stubborn stains or grime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We suggest a natural, yet truly effective, recipe that will help you whiten and clean your grout and tiles in a completely chemical-free way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instructions<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  1. Make a paste of baking soda and water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Mix 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water to make a thick paste.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. This versatile cleaner will work with all grout colors, but vinegar may be harmful to some natural stones such as marble or limestone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Apply the paste to the grout lines with your finger.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Although baking soda is not harmful, wearing rubber gloves can help prevent scratches or irritated skin from the abrasive grout and baking soda.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Spray the baking soda paste with vinegar solution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Prepare a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water and pour it into a spray bottle. Next, spray the baking soda with the vinegar solution. You should immediately see bubbles which tell you that the natural cleaning process has begun.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Do not use vinegar if your tiles are natural stone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Wait until the solution stops bubbling. (The bubbling action is a chemical reaction between baking soda and vinegar. The reaction usually lasts a few minutes. Once the bubbling stops, the chemical cleaning action is performed).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Scrub the grout lines with a brush.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. Use a nylon-bristled scrub brush or toothbrush to scrub along each grout line. Pay special attention to corners and edges to keep these areas clean as well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  12. Clean the floor with clean water<\/li>\n\n\n\n
