A classic and cult favourite!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mashed Potato Topping:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4 tbsp butter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 lbs potatoes peeled and cut into big chunks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bc to \u00bd c. milk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">salt and pepper to taste<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bc c. sour cream<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Filling:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 cloves garlic minced<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 small onion diced<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 lb ground beef<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 tbsp flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 tbsp tomato paste<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bd c. beef broth<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bd tsp thyme<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 tsp rosemary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 bay leaf<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 c. frozen peas, carrots, and corn medley<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>How to make Shepherd\u2019s Pie<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 2: In water, boil the potatoes until fork-tender. Drain when done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 3: To the potatoes, add the butter, sour cream, milk, salt, and pepper. Using a hand masher or mixer, mash the potatoes until your preferred consistency. Set aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 4: Cook the ground beef, onions, and garlic in a large skillet until the beef is no longer pink. Drain the excess grease once done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 5: Add 2 cups of the frozen veggies to the same skillet and cook for approximately 5 to 7 minutes, stirring often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 6: Over the meat and veggies, sprinkle the flour and stir well. Then, stir in the tomato paste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 7: Pour in the beef broth and add the Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, thyme, and bay leaf. Bring everything to a simmer, then adjust the heat to low and continue to cook for 10 minutes. If needed, add extra broth to keep the meat from drying out. Take the skillet off the heat once done and discard the bay leaf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 8: In a greased 9 x 13-inch dish, evenly spread the meat mixture and top with the mashed potatoes. Feel free to design and create some ridges in the potatoes. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until brown and bubbly.
