I have a very satisfying treat that I know everyone will love! These spicy vegan lentil cakes are not only incredibly delicious but super easy to throw together using only a few simple ingredients. These lentil cakes are protein-rich and have a spicy and smoky flavour that\u2019s to die for! If you love veggie patties, these lentil cakes are a must-try!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">oil, for frying<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">200 grams (1 c.) red lentils<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4 tablespoons psyllium husks, or one large egg<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 medium onion, diced<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 bell peppers, I used one red and one yellow, chopped<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4 tablespoons nutritional yeast flakes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">about 60 grams (\u00bd c.) flour of choice, I used some chickpea flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 teaspoons smoked paprika<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 small bunch of parsley, chopped<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bd teaspoon chilli flakes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 teaspoon spicy paprika<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">sea salt and ground pepper, to taste<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>How to make Spicy Vegan Lentil Cakes<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 1: In a pot, add the lentils and cover with cover. Bring to a boil and cook the lentils for about 15 minutes. When done, remove from the heat and strain the lentils well. In a large bowl, transfer the lentils and mash with a fork or using a vertical blender. Next, add the remaining ingredients except for the oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 2: Mix until you have a sticky and easy-to-shape mixture. Add extra flour to the mixture if it turned out to be wet, and mix until you have a dough-like consistency. Or simply allow the mixture to rest for about 10 to 15 minutes in the fridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 3: Grease a non-stick pan with some oil.
