Quick and Easy Pain au Chocolat: The Method to Try

Pain au chocolat is a classic French pastry, often eaten for breakfast or for a coffee break. This quick and easy version uses ready-made puff pastry and chocolate bars. Simply wrap the dough around the chocolate, brush with egg and bake for golden, crispy pains au chocolat in no time.


  • 1 roll of puff pastry
  • Chocolate
  • Sugar
  • Granulated sugar


  1. Roll out a rectangular roll of puff pastry and cut it into 4 parts. Place a piece of chocolate please on the dough and cover. Add another piece of chocolate and roll it up.
  2. Brush rolls with water and sprinkle with sugar before baking.
  3. Bake at 200°C/392°F for 20 minutes and decorate with powdered sugar.
