  1. First preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. For the dough: In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time and mix well.
  3. Mix the flour with the cocoa powder, baking powder and salt and gradually add to the butter and sugar mixture. Slowly add the milk until a smooth dough is formed.
  4. Spread the dough evenly on the baking tray and smooth it out. Then bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until the dough is firm. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
  5. For the pudding: Heat the milk in a saucepan, but do not let it boil. Mix the sugar and vanilla pudding powder in a separate bowl. Slowly pour the hot milk into the sugar-pudding mixture and stir vigorously.
  6. Put the pudding mixture back into the pot and bring to the boil, stirring constantly, until it thickens. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
  7. Spread the drained cherries on the cooled chocolate dough.
  8. Whip the cream with vanilla sugar until stiff and spread over the cherries.
  9. Pour the cooled pudding evenly over the cream layer and smooth it out.
  10. Finally, sprinkle the Black Forest pudding cake with chocolate shavings.
  11. Place the cake in the fridge for at least 2 hours to allow it to set properly.
  12. Cut into pieces before serving and enjoy!
