Sweet cakes are very versatile and adaptable due to their different flavors, which is why it is very useful to learn how to make the homemade dough and then fill it as desired. There is a wide variety of fillings in the world of baking, you can make flavor combinations and even give it a personal touch of ground spices such as cinnamon, ginger and other sweets.

Below is an easy, simple but exquisite recipe to prepare a Coconut and Dulce de Leche Cake at home , ideal as a dessert or to accompany a delicious coffee.

Let’s see the ingredients that we are going to need and the step by step of all its preparation:


  • 140 gr. of wheat flour 0000
  • 70 gr. by Maizena
  • 100 gr. Butter (melted)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch of salt

For the filling:

  • 200 gr. of Dulce de leche confectioner

For coverage:

  • 160 gr. grated coconut
  • 250 gr. of sugar
  • 1 egg


  • First, place the sifted flour with the cornstarch and salt in a bowl.
  • Then we add the melted butter and the egg to shape the dough.
  • Next we choose the mold or a pie plate and adapt the dough to the base and its edges, we also prick it with a fork in the center to prevent it from inflating.
  • We preheat the oven to 180º C, and place the tart pan in it to cook over moderate heat for approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
  • When the cooking time has elapsed, we remove the mold and pour the pastry dulce de leche for the filling, covering the base.
  • Next step, we begin by mixing the grated coconut coating, sugar and egg.
  • Then we pour it over the layer of dulce de leche, covering the entire top of the cake well.
  • Finally, we put it back in a moderate oven for approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Finally we remove it from the oven, let it cool to room temperature and cut it into squares to serve and enjoy.
