How to Make Natural Aloe Vera and Spinach Soap to Take Care of Your Skin at Home
Aloe vera is one of the most valued plants in skin care thanks to its ability to hydrate, soothe irritations and provide an immediate cooling sensation. If we add to this the antioxidants and natural vitamin E present in spinach leaves, we obtain a homemade soap ideal for cleansing, softening and revitalizing the face without harsh chemicals.
Below you will find an improved, clear and practical guide so that you can make your own natural soaps at home, with fresh and simple ingredients.
Ingredients needed
- 2 large stalks of fresh aloe vera
- 1 cup spinach leaves, well washed
- 1 stick of pure glycerin (or vegetable glycerin)
- 1 pinch baking soda (optional, great for oily skin)
- Small molds or disposable cups
Step 1: Harvest and prepare the aloe vera
Cut two aloe leaves directly from the plant. Choose firm, thick, green leaves.
Wash them thoroughly to remove dust and dirt. Later:
- Remove the edges with thorns.
- Place the leaves in water for a few minutes to remove their acibenza, the yellowish liquid that can irritate the skin.
- Remove the peel carefully and keep only the transparent pulp.
- Cut the pulp into small pieces to make it easier to crush.
Step 2: Prepare the spinach (natural source of vitamin E)
Spinach will provide antioxidants, vitamin E, and nutrients that help keep the skin soft and protected.
- Wash the leaves very well.
- Remove the thick stems.
- Chop the leaves as finely as possible.
Step 3: Blend both preparations
In a processor, mortar and pestle, or hand blender:
- Gradually mix the aloe vera with the spinach.
- Do not add water; We want to keep the mixture thick and concentrated.
- Blend until you get a greenish and homogeneous gel.
If it is too thick, you can strain it with a thin cloth to remove traces of fiber.
Step 4: Melt the Glycerin
Place the finely chopped glycerin over a double boiler.
When completely liquid:
- Remove from heat.
- Add it immediately to the aloe vera and spinach mixture.
Mix in gentle motions to prevent too much lather from forming.
Step 5: Add baking soda (optional)
If your skin is oily, add a pinch of baking soda.
This helps to better clean pores and remove excess sebum.
If your skin is dry or sensitive, you can skip it.
Step 6: Pour into molds and let rest
Fill the chosen molds with the mixture that is still warm.

- Disposable cups
