Who hasn’t spent time trying to solve small day-to-day problems at home? Sometimes the simplest solutions are the ones that save us the most time.

We put together 14 nifty home hacks that will make your life easier and more efficient:

1. Use clips to organize cables

If you have a lot of cords on your desk or TV, use stationery clips on the edge of the table to keep them tidy and prevent them from falling out.

2. Label caps with adhesive tape

When storing leftovers in similar containers, place a piece of tape and write down the contents and date. This way you don’t have to open each lid to know what’s inside.

3. Wipe off foam residue with a spoon

Shaving foam or similar residue in containers? Use a spoon to gently scrape them out effortlessly.

4. Hot water to remove labels

If a label resists, submerge the object in hot water or run a hot damp towel over it; The adhesive will loosen and peel off better.

5. Freeze herbs in olive oil

If you have leftover parsley, coriander or basil, chop and place it in dicing trays with olive oil. Instead of throwing away, you’ll get small portions ready to cook.

6. Use a rubber band to open difficult jars

Wrap a thick rubber band around the lid of a hard-to-open jar; It will give you more grip and make it easier to turn.

7. Avoid hand odors with lemon

If your hands are smelly when you chop onion or garlic, rub them with a little lemon or even with the edge of the peel; Neutralizes odor quickly.

8. Place a tennis ball to collect hairs

If you have pets, store one or two tennis balls in the dryer with your clothes: they help to remove hairs and speed up drying.

9. Use baking soda and vinegar to unclog

For slow pipes, pour in half a cup of baking soda, then half a cup of hot vinegar. Wait a few minutes and rinse with hot water.

10. Freeze a sponge to keep the refrigerator cool

Wet a sponge, wring it out, and freeze it. Place it inside the refrigerator or freezer to absorb odors and moisture.

11. Use chopsticks to prevent doors from hitting the wall

Place a toothpick behind the knobs to act as a “makeshift stop” and protect your wall from bumps.

12. Revive crushed towels with ice

If a towel was crushed in the washing machine, place some ice cubes along with the towel in the dryer. The ice will melt and restore its fluffy texture.

13. Volcanic Steamer Cup

If cooking foams or splatters, place a slightly slanted lid so that steam escapes and doesn’t spill onto the cooker.

14. Organize your space with clear boxes
