How to remove black from floor joints

By Vitia

When superficial, cleaning the floor may seem like a tedious job, but certainly light. If we talk about a deeper cleaning, which also includes the whitening of the joints, the situation changes completely.

Dirt, grease and bacteria are deposited in the floor joints and end up accumulating and turning them into a black color which is very annoying, especially if the tiles are white or in any case of a light color.

If you too care a lot about cleaning the floor, you will be pleased to know that it is possible to whiten the joints naturally and without too much effort, and below we suggest the 4 most effective methods in this regard.

Baking soda

When paired with water, it is one of the most effective cleaning products on various types of surfaces.

  • In a bowl, pour water and baking soda and mix until creamy.
  • Use a toothbrush to apply the paste to the joints and leave for 5 minutes.
  • Brush between the joints to remove dirt, then rinse.

Hydrogen peroxide

A product that is part of the first aid kit, but which is also very useful for cleaning, disinfecting and whitening joints.

  • Pour a little baking soda powder over the floor joints.
  • Add a little hydrogen peroxide and a little liquid dish soap.
  • Let it sit for 5 minutes, then scrub well with a toothbrush and rinse.

White vinegar

White vinegar can be used in a myriad of different ways. In addition to cleaning joints thoroughly, it is effective against limescale and mould.

  • Pour vinegar over the joints.
  • Add baking soda.
  • Scrub vigorously with a toothbrush, then rinse.
