Pumpkin jam: tasty, nutritious and rich in antioxidants

By Vitia

Who doesn’t like to have breakfast with a nice slice of wholemeal bread accompanied by a tasty natural jam? Below we suggest a recipe that is as unusual as it is tasty: that of pumpkin jam.

Pumpkin is a very popular vegetable used in our kitchen. However, pumpkin jam is not as well-known as it deserves. Follow the recipe below to the letter to prepare it at home.

Ingredients: 500 grams of pumpkin cut into pieces, 250 grams of sugar, 1 glass of water, a few drops of vanilla extract.

Pour the water and pumpkin pieces into a saucepan, then add the vanilla extract and sugar.

Heat over low heat, stirring well with a wooden spoon. After a few minutes the pumpkin will begin to “melt”. Continue stirring until the sugar caramelizes and you get an orange mixture.

Remove from the stove and let it cool, then blend until you get the consistency of jam.

Pour the pumpkin jam into a sterilized jar with an airtight seal, close and wait 30 minutes before consuming.

Keep the pumpkin jam in the fridge.
