Tricks to eliminate “silverfish” from our homes forever

By Vitia

It often happens, especially when we clean the house, to come across the famous “silverfish“. These insects like damp and dark corners of our homes, which is why they are most often noticed in bathrooms or near bookshelves.

Silverfish, or Lepisma saccharina, are small, silver-colored insects that move very quickly, are harmless and reproduce easily. Below we explain how to get rid of these insects for good.

The first trick is to put some lavender oil in the favorite corners of these insects. The aroma of lavender drives away silverfish.

You can also put lavender bags in every corner of the house. To make the aroma even more intense, add a few drops of essential oil. A couple of days will be enough to no longer see these annoying insects.

Another very effective trick is to prepare a real trap for silverfish. Pour some oatmeal into a jar, which you will then wrap with tape. The starch in the oatmeal will attract insects, which will climb the jar to get in, but from which they will no longer be able to get out, sliding on the glass.

If you can spot a silverfish nest, just pour a little ethyl alcohol over it to get rid of it.

Remember that silverfish like humid places, so if possible, put baking soda in a jar so that it can absorb some moisture.
