The boiled water method to have softer chestnuts that peel easily

By Vitia

Chestnuts are a symbolic fruit of autumn and can be appreciated in many different ways. For us, classic roasted chestnuts are undoubtedly the best way.

But if there is one thing really boring about chestnuts, it is that they are very difficult to peel, especially after being cooked in the oven and therefore they are very hot.

Knowing the proper tricks will make this task much easier. Below we suggest the most effective, which will allow you to enjoy chestnuts without complications and without altering their flavor and nutritional qualities.

The most traditional method (and also the most effective) is that of our grandmothers. To put it into practice we only need a pot and a knife.

Make a cut on each chestnut to make it easier to remove the skin. Then put some water to boil in a pot and once it reaches a boil, turn off the stove and pour in the chestnuts.

Wait about two to three minutes, then remove them and drain them well in a colander. Let them cool under cold water and immediately after you can immediately start peeling them.
