A tragedy shook the life of Jess Prinsloo, a 24-year-old woman who was about to get engaged to her boyfriend Craig McKinnon, also 24. The tragic incident took place during a romantic vacation in South Africa on December 30. The couple was on holiday at Jess’s mother’s house in Johannesburg when Jess came into contact with milk and developed an allergic reaction known as anaphylaxis. This reaction is characterized by the closing of the throat. Unfortunately, Jess passed away the next day in the hospital.

The cause of Jess’s allergic reaction was using the wrong spoon to stir the tea. This spoon had traces of milk that were the trigger for the tragic situation.

Craig’s reaction was heartbreaking. He shared a message on social media: “It’s hard to find clarity today, the worst day of my life. But one point I’ve never been clearer, the more than 3 years I got with my Jess are irreplaceable, and I wouldn’t trade them for 60 years with anyone else on earth.”

Craig also noted how lucky he felt to have spent the best three days of his life with his fiancée. This tragedy touched the lives of Craig and Jess’s family, who deeply mourn his loss.
