With the leaf of this plant you can get rid of several annoying pests

By Vitia

Pests in the home can be a real nuisance, and many commercial products often contain harsh chemicals that not only harm the environment, but can also pose a health risk. Fortunately, there are natural alternatives that are just as effective and safe.

Today we will talk about boldo, a plant with natural repellent properties that, combined with cloves, becomes a powerful ally against unwanted insects such as cockroaches, ants, flies and spiders. With this simple recipe, you can keep your home pest-free without the need to resort to chemicals.

Boldo and cloves: an effective combination against pests

Boldo is known for its medicinal properties, but it has also stood out as a natural repellent thanks to its active components. When combined with cloves, another plant with insecticidal qualities, a very effective natural repellent is obtained. This preparation can ward off a wide variety of pests, keeping your home environment fresh and clean. This homemade method is easy to prepare and also inexpensive.

Ingredients needed

  • 150 ml water (tap water)
  • 4 to 5 boldo leaves
  • Clove tea (made by boiling some cloves in water)
  • 50 ml of alcohol
  • Sprayer
  • Funnel (optional)

How to prepare the natural boldo and clove repellent

  1. Prepare the clove infusion: Place some cloves in water and bring it to a boil. Once the water has turned dark and the aroma is strong, remove it from the heat and let it cool.
  2. Add the boldo leaves: Once the clove tea is warm, add the boldo leaves and let it steep for a few minutes to release its properties.
  3. Mix with alcohol: Add 50 ml of alcohol to the mixture to enhance the effect of the repellent and help it evaporate quickly when applied.
  4. Strain and pour into the sprayer: If you want, you can use a funnel to pour the mixture into the sprayer, straining the leaves and nail debris to avoid clogging in the nozzle.

How to apply it at home

  • To apply the repellent, simply spray the mixture on areas where you notice the presence of insects. It is ideal for use on door and window frames, room corners and places where cockroaches, ants and spiders often appear.
  • You can also apply it in the kitchen, around the trash, and in other vulnerable places. Remember to repeat the process every 2 or 3 days, especially in hot weather, to maintain the effectiveness of the repellent.

This method is all-natural and can be used confidently in the home, giving you a pest-free environment without exposing your family or pets to harmful chemicals.
