Orange custard, without eggs, lactose and refined sugar

Creams are among the essential elements of pastry, so it is normal that when you want to prepare a cake or other dessert, they are among the first ingredients we think of for the filling.
Although the classic custard is delicious, knowing some lighter, healthier and diet-friendly alternatives can only be good for us. This is the case of orange custard, the recipe for which we suggest below.
Orange, in addition to giving a characteristic flavor to the cream, is also rich in nutrients such as vitamins A and C, folic acid, phosphorus and potassium.
Orange custard ingredients: half a liter of soy milk, the peel of 1 organic orange, 1 cinnamon stick, 75 grams of brown sugar, 50 grams of corn starch, 200 ml of freshly squeezed orange juice.
In a saucepan, heat the soy milk with the orange peel and cinnamon sprig. When it reaches a boil, reduce the heat and remove the peel and cinnamon, then add the sugar and stir well to dissolve completely.
In the meantime, squeeze the oranges and mix the juice with the cornstarch, stirring well to avoid the formation of lumps.
When the milk starts to boil again, add the orange juice and mix well as the cream becomes thick.
Remove from the stove and allow to cool before serving the orange custard.
