Pain au chocolat is a classic French pastry, often eaten for breakfast or for a coffee break. This quick and easy version uses ready-made puff pastry and chocolate bars. Simply wrap the dough around the chocolate, brush with egg and bake for golden, crispy pains au chocolat in no time.
Ingredients
- 1 roll of puff pastry
- Chocolate
- Sugar
- Granulated sugar
Preparation
- Roll out a rectangular roll of puff pastry and cut it into 4 parts. Place a piece of chocolate please on the dough and cover. Add another piece of chocolate and roll it up.
- Brush rolls with water and sprinkle with sugar before baking.
- Bake at 200°C/392°F for 20 minutes and decorate with powdered sugar.
