This   herbal tea made from ginger, lemon and honey  is full of beneficial effects   thanks to the power of its ingredients.  Ginger is known for its   anti-inflammatory and antioxidant   properties   . It also contains active ingredients called gingerols, which may help   reduce inflammation   ,   improve digestion, and   relieve stomach pain.  Ginger can also   help strengthen the immune system.

Lemon   is a rich source of vitamin C   , a powerful antioxidant that helps protect cells from free radical damage. Vitamin C also plays an important role in   strengthening the immune system   and promoting healthy skin.

In addition,  a recent study  has shown that the combination of lemon and ginger   has an antitumor and immunomodulatory effect and   is therefore capable    of regulating the body’s defense against foreign substances.

Lemon-ginger herbal tea   , sometimes with a   touch of honey,   is a home remedy for   colds, coughs and sore throats.  It is also a valuable herbal tea that   can strengthen the immune system.  During flu season, many people use it to fight infections.

Honey is a  good throat soother   :  Studies of respiratory infections in children, with symptoms ranging from dry cough and runny nose to fever, have found that a single     nightly dose of honey   can have a weak but effective effect   .  Influences cough   and helps you   sleep better  .   It is important to remember that   honey should not be given to children under 12 months of age  . 

Perfect in combination with honey,   lemon, rich in vitamin C   and protective bioflavonoids, especially in the skin, so it is also worth using the skin when preparing herbal teas. Although few studies support its use as a cold remedy, lemon juice has many   antibacterial properties.

Ginger adds a delicious warming flavor to   hot drinks  and has been used for medicinal purposes throughout history. It is used to    relieve a variety of conditions  , from nausea to colds   , fever and sore throat.   Its effectiveness is based on active ingredients, including gingerols.

To prepare   a ginger, lemon and honey herbal tea   you will need   the following ingredients:

  • 1 piece of fresh ginger
  • a few drops of lemon juice
  • a slice of lemon
  •  1 tablespoon of honey (to sweeten)
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)
  • a glass of water

method

  1. Preparation of ingredients:   Peel and grate the fresh ginger,    squeeze the lemon juice and cut a slice.
  2. Bring a glass of water to a boil in a saucepan.
  3. Once the water is boiling, turn off the heat and add   the ingredients   : a little lemon juice, grated ginger, a teaspoon of honey and a slice of lemon (with the zest). Mix everything.
  4. Let   the drink sit for 5 to 10 minutes   , just until it cools, then drink it.
  5. If you want to enrich your herbal tea even further, you can   add a teaspoon of chia seeds.  These little seeds are rich in fiber, protein and omega-3 fatty acids.

You can enjoy ginger, lemon and honey herbal tea   at any time of the day. However, it is particularly beneficial when drunk  in the morning on an empty stomach   or as a relaxing drink before bed.
It is recommended to   start with  one cup per day.  If you wish, you can   gradually increase the amount to two to three cups per day.  Be sure to vary the amount of honey based on your personal taste.

The daily dose of chia seeds is 10 grams, so do not exceed the quantity.

Are there any contraindications?

Although it offers many health benefits, it is important   to be aware of possible contraindications   and weigh the suitability of this drink based on your health condition. Some people may have an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients. It is best to seek advice from your doctor before consumption.

Herbal tea ingredients, especially ginger, may have an   irritating effect on the stomach  in some people. Anyone suffering from   stomach ulcers, acid reflux   , or other gastrointestinal issues should consult a doctor before consuming this drink regularly. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medication, it is   best not to drink this type of herbal tea.  If you have   diabetes or high blood sugar, it is advisable to avoid adding honey   or contact your doctor.
