Why is it dangerous to refill water bottles?

Surely, most of us reuse a few bottles of water, in fact we do it to protect the environment. In addition, it is the most practical way to hydrate ourselves if we go for a walk or are going to do physical activity.
We do the same if we have leftover flavored water after a meal, but the truth is that this habit puts our health at risk.

Why do we say this or what is the danger?
Without a doubt, this reflection made us think about the possible risks. The point is that recent research has discovered that there are components of some plastic bottles, such as bisphenol A, that have harmful effects on our health.
The problem is that this component, according to scientists from the universities of Exeter and Cambridge, causes a narrowing in the arteries that can lead to a heart attack and angina pectoris.
A team of researchers from the National Institute of Health Sciences have even discovered that this component has an estrogenic effect that directly affects the pancreas and even acquires insulin resistance.
Obviously we have to take measures paying close attention to what we are using to drink, let’s analyze the following:
Table of Contents
Take a good look at the packaging
Obviously, we expect the necessary measures to protect the health of citizens from the competent authorities in this matter.
However, when this does not happen, the manufacture of bottles with this compound has not been prohibited or at least warned on the product labels. The recommendation is to pay attention to recycling codes.
Recycling codes:
This indicates the type of plastic that was used for its manufacture, so when choosing a bottle, the label should be carefully observed.
Remember, the lower the number, the lower the risk it poses to our health. Basically, DO NOT buy products that are packaged with the numbers 3, 7 and 10, which indicate the presence of bisphenol A.
On the other hand, the bottles with numbers 1, 2, 4 and 5, indicate that the material is free of expandable polystyrene, phthalate and bisphenol A.
Recommendations:
DO NOT drink the water from the bottle that we leave in the car for 3 days and exposed to the sun, for example.
DO NOT use the same bottle more than 3 times to carry liquids, even if we have washed it very well.
The best and safest recommendation is glass bottles to fill with different liquids.
Another very timely suggestion is NOT to freeze plastic bottles, as these could release carcinogenic dioxins into the water. This is stated by a group of researchers from: Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
